San Peïre

A village overlooking the sea

Located right in the heart of a cork oak forest, this giant grey granite rock mass, 416 m above sea level, will take you back in time. A fortified settlement during the Middle Ages, the San Peïre site was occupied from the Neolithic period up until the 13th century, when the local population began to gradually leave the castrum after the monks of Thoronet secured the local land. But San Peïre is not only steeped in history; it also offers breath-taking views over the surrounding area, with a 360° panorama over the plains of Le Plan-de-la-Tour, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Maures Massif and the French Prealps.
