Description
Three artists, two mediums, one shared passion for creation. The Château is hosting works by Sonia Holzleitner, Anne Joubert, and Annick Montanari, all of whom work with clay and oil paint.
Introduced to modeling as a teenager by her mother, the sculptor Anne Catherine Benoît, Sonia Holzleitner has been sharing her expertise since 2002, first in her studio in Grimaud and then in La Garde-Freinet. Her work explores the theme of humans and animals, intertwined to the point where one can no longer be distinguished from the other.
Self-taught, Anne Joubert discovered oil painting at age 24 and has been painting ever since, drawing inspiration from her many travels. For the past three years, she has also been exploring clay modeling, a new way of engaging with the material, volume, and movement.
Annick Montanari, known as “Kaky,” ran the daycare center in Cavalaire-sur-Mer for 40 years before devoting herself fully to sculpture. For her, shaping clay and watching a work come to life under her fingers is like witnessing a birth.
Opening reception on Saturday, November 7, at 11 a.m.
