Description
"The Bitter-Pumpkin Monk's Talks on Painting" is Shitao's treatise on fundamental questions concerning painting and art in general, and creation in relation to nature.
It presents the original meditation of a genius painter who, based on a lifetime of experience, asks himself the fundamental questions: why paint? How to paint? Shitao bases his thinking outside time, beyond works and schools; he is concerned neither with painters nor paintings, but with the Painter and Painting, or more precisely, the Act of Painting.
