A walk for man and forest Hafid BOUSSIS, chestnut grower, will introduce you to the chestnut tree and its fruit.
Also known as the "breadfruit tree", the chestnut tree is very present in the local landscape. Favoured and exploited by man for several centuries, it has represented one of the food resources of the rural populations of the Maures.
Accompanied by a chestnut grower, you will wander among the trunks of hundred-year-old chestnut trees. But what is a chestnut doing in the heart of a chestnut grove?
